STOP LAYING A GOOD PEN DOWN ON A COLD HARD DESK

A fountain pen left flat on a desk rolls, and a rolling pen ends up nib-down on the floor. Eik holds the barrel in a shallow milled cradle at a slight angle, so the nib stays clear of the surface and the ink stays where it belongs. It also stops the uncapped pen from touching paper you have just written on. If you have spent money on a pen, this is the forty seconds a day it stops costing you.

WHY IT EARNS ITS SPACE ON YOUR DESK

  • Cradles the barrel in a milled groove — so a round pen cannot roll off the desk the moment you nudge the surface.
  • Holds the nib above the wood — which keeps the tines clear of anything that could bend or dry them out.
  • Weighs enough to stay put one-handed — so you can set the pen down without the rest sliding away from you.
  • Finishes in oiled walnut rather than lacquer — so stray ink wipes off instead of staining a glossy film.
  • Needs no assembly or care — beyond an occasional wipe and, once a year, a few drops of oil.
